Terms of Service
The rules for using Bridge Club, at bridgeclub.com, in plain language.
Last updated:
By creating an account or using Bridge Club you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who may use the site
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- One person, one account. Do not share your account or use somebody else's.
- Give a real email address, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
Fair play
Bridge is a game of partnership and honest information. At a table you agree to:
- play your own cards yourself, without help from another person or a program while a board is in play;
- not pass information to your partner by any means other than your calls and plays, and not use a second account, another window, a phone call or a message to see or share hidden cards;
- explain your partnership's agreements honestly when asked;
- not watch a table you are also playing at, or one playing the same boards;
- not leave boards deliberately unfinished, stall, or lose on purpose to change a result.
Conduct at the table and in chat
Be courteous to partners and opponents. Do not harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anybody; do not post anything unlawful, obscene or hateful; do not advertise or send spam; do not pretend to be another person. This applies to chat, messages, usernames, profile pictures, and to what you say and show on camera and microphone.
You can block a player and you can report one. A report is kept for the people who run the site.
Directors and the people who run the site
- A table's administrator can set that table's rules and decide who sits at it.
- In a tournament or a team match the director's rulings are final for that event. A director can adjust a score, move or remove a player, and make announcements.
- The developers who run Bridge Club can remove content, close a table, and warn, suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, with or without notice where the breach is serious.
Your account and its removal
- Your username is chosen once and cannot be changed.
- You can stop using the site at any time and ask for your account and data to be removed. Deleting your data says how.
- We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, or that has been left unused for a long time.
What you upload and write
- Pictures, sound, video, lessons, analyses and messages you add remain yours.
- You give Bridge Club permission to store them and to show them to the people you share them with or publish them to, for as long as they are on the site.
- Only upload what you have the right to use. Do not upload anything that is somebody else's without permission, or that breaks the conduct rules above.
- We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
Robots and analysis
Robot players, double-dummy analysis, par scores and explanations of bids are aids. They can be wrong, and they are not rulings.
No warranty
Bridge Club is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and correct, but we do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that nothing will ever be lost. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site, including a lost connection, a lost result or lost saved work. Nothing here limits any right the law gives you that cannot be limited.
Privacy
What we collect and what we do with it is described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The new version will be on this page with a new date at the top, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
